What does PhoneLab do in Hornstull?
PhoneLab is a phone and computer workshop at Långholmsgatan 13 in Hornstull on Södermalm in Stockholm. We replace screens and batteries on iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, iPad and MacBook, repair Windows PCs and Mac, and handle software faults, micro-soldering, water damage and data recovery. All work is done on site in the shop.
The workshop is a couple of minutes on foot from Hornstull metro station, in the same block as the shops along Långholmsgatan. You can drop it off on the way to work and collect it on the way home. We send nothing on to a central depot — the phone stays in the shop on Södermalm until it is done.
We work mostly with iPhone from the iPhone 11 up, the Samsung Galaxy S series, iPad, and MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. Screen and battery replacements are the two most common jobs. On newer iPhone models it is worth knowing that a non-original screen can disable True Tone and in some cases Face ID — which is why you always get to choose between an original part and a copy, at different prices and with different warranties.
If you are not sure what is wrong we do a diagnosis while you wait and tell you straight whether it is worth repairing. Sometimes the answer is no, and we say so.
Before you come in
Take a backup if you can, and turn off Find My iPhone or Find My Device — otherwise we cannot complete all the tests. Have the passcode to hand. We never ask for your code by SMS or email.
